We are rolling into another great season of Scandinavian dinners after a fun and relaxing Summer.
James A.V. Bligh, an architect in Vancouver highlighted our dinner in June with his talk "Bringing Scandinavian architecture to B.C.".
We had a successful presence at the Scandinavian Midsummer Festival on with our booth in the Iceland tend. However, we could have used a few more helping hands to fill some of the hours during the weekend.
I know you are all looking forward to another great dinner which will be catered by Peter Praegel I look forward to joining you all again in June.
Don't forget, there will be a celebration of life for Kate Praegel on Saturday, September 7th at 1:00pm at the Scandinavian Community Centre.
See you soon!
UBC Voyage - A Special Presentation
In April, in addition to our regular speaker, we were given a special presentation by Torbjørn Reitan Fyrvik who told us about the UBC Voyage Project. The goal of the project is to design and build a fully autonomous research vessel which will be tested in the Atlantic Ocean. The team is currently working on the project but they are looking for assistance. Click the link below to learn about the project, its status and how you can help make it happen!
