Welcome to the last issue of the Scandinavian Business Club newsletter for 2019. This year has seen a few challenges for us but we nevertheless had many enjoyable dinners with interesting guest speakers and wonderful social gatherings. We finished off the year with a lively Christmas Party with traditional Scandinavian buffet dinner. The Runeberg Choir started our evening with beautiful Christmas Carols while we warmed up with a glass of Glögg. For dinner we enjoyed many kinds of herring followed by the buffet with Swedish Ham, roast pork, vegetables and many other delicacies! After dinner, we socialized and danced to the music of the Classic Reflections Dance Band. What a wonderful time we had and we look forward to another great party next December. Mark your calendars and don't miss the next Scandinavian Business Club Fabulous Christmas Party on December 5, 2020. We already have the hall booked and our planning is under way!
This month, we welcome, as our guest speaker, Mr. Ron Shore of Telesave Communications. Ron has lived an exciting life with many experiences including time in the navy, mountain climbing, cycling across Canada and travel to 58 countries, every province of Canada and most of the United States. Ron will tell us about his work in creating a memorial for the crew of the Liberator Bomber, KK214, which crashed, while on a training flight from Abbotsford Airport, on June 1, 1945 on Mount Welch in the Cheam Range of British Columbia.
Our dinner this month will be one of our favorites, Danish Open Face Sandwiches with soup. Looking forward to seeing you all at dinner,
See you soon!
