Coro Strandberg


Coro Strandberg (previously Schou), Principal of Strandberg Consulting, is a nationally recognized corporate sustainability and social responsibility advisor to business, industry associations and governments. She provides strategy, advice and facilitation services on the integration of social and environmental considerations in business and the marketplace in ways that create financial and societal value. Coro specializes in integrating sustainability into board governance, corporate strategy, finance, risk management, procurement, and human resource management. She also advises industry associations on the development of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs for their members. One of her clients has been named a top Corporate Citizen by Corporate Knights for the past five years.

In addition to her active advisory practice, Coro is a public speaker, writer, trainer and thought leader on emerging social and environmental business models. She publishes guides and tools on CSR strategy and integration on her website at She leads The Conference Board of Canada’s CSR webinar series and authored most of Industry Canada’s online CSR toolkit. In 2012, Coro was recognized as one of the first Clean50 honourees in Canada for her contributions to clean capitalism. Coro is also an associate with Canadian Business for Social Responsibility, a national network of companies committed to CSR leadership.

Coro is a past director and Chair of Vancity Credit Union, which she helped position as a global leader in corporate social responsibility. Past roles also include Green Economy Policy Advisor and Director of Social Policy for the BC Government and Social Planner for the City of Surrey.

Coro lives in Burnaby in a LEED Gold certified home with her partner and two teen-agers. She is a proud daughter of a Dane who immigrated to Canada in the 1950s. She works with a Danish flag at her desk and a view of the north shore mountains.
